From August 28ième to 30ième, IURC Latin America participated in the second edition of the International Summit of Habitat for Latin America and the Caribbean (CIHALC 2023).

The programme brought together a delegation of 23 high-level municipal and regional officers from 8 different countries. In addition, the IURC programme participated jointly with the Global Covenant of Mayor for the Americas (GCoM) in a panel to discuss about European Union cooperation and climate change. It featured the participation of the Mayor of Tópaga (Colombia), the Vice-Mayor of Oreamuo (Costa Rica), the Mayor of Palora (Ecuador), and the Chief of Urban Planning of Puerto Montt (Chile).
