As cities are responsible for a high level of energy consumption and around 70% of greenhouse gas emissions, sustainable urban development is a key component in the European Union?s efforts to realise the #EuropeanGreenDeal and become carbon neutral by 2050.

In Bangkok, the EU Delegation to Thailand recently established a partnership with we!park through the International Urban and Regional Cooperation programme. This collaboration promotes dialogue on the development of green infrastructure in a way that involves all stakeholders, particularly communities, and the use of nature-based solutions to tackle pressing issues such as climate change and air pollution. Our hope is to see Bangkok achieve its Green Bangkok 2030 vision to create more green public spaces for its citizens, resulting also in a better quality of urban life.
